The company reportedly has multiple Diablo projects in the works, and has been relatively silent about the series for the past few years, with the game being reduced to nothing more than a single small demo at last year's BlizzCon.
The fact that Blizzard announced the Switch port this early is probably a good sign for the rest of the franchise. While fans' excitement level isn't quite where it would be if Diablo 4 were announced, at least it's another instance of the Switch bringing console-quality games to a portable audience, much like Bethesda did with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The ability to play the game on the go with the Nintendo Switch should be great for anyone that frequently travels and doesn't have the ability to keep their PC strapped on their back. Regardless, the port is a godsend for Diablo fans everywhere.
